New Georgia License Plate: Tybee Island Lighthouse Contest

The Famous Tybee Lighthouse is being considered for a Georgia License Plate, but the Tybee Island Historical Society needs your help! They are in need of 800 reservations to make it official! License Plates can be purchased for $25.00 at tybeelighthouse.org. If they are unable to reach their goal, the deposit for the plate will become a $25.00 donation to the Tybee Island Historical Society. You can cast your vote for the winner between these two options here: http://bit.ly/tybeelicenseplate

Dawn Tanis and Kathryn Boaen created the two art pieces nominated for the final round and Remy Thurston designed the graphic artwork. The final two candidates were chosen by: Jesse Petrea - Georgia House of Representatives District 166, Shirley Sessions – Mayor of Tybee Island, Hope Barton – President Tybee Island Historical Society, and Ben Watson – Georgia Senate District 1.

Visit the Tybee Island Lighthouse website and vote for your favorite lighthouse license plate design. The contest runs through August 31st and the winner will be announced in early fall. And of course, be sure to show support for the Tybee Island Lighthouse by reserving your commemorative license plate!

If you have any questions, get in touch with Sarah Jones of the Tybee Island Historical Society at (912) 786-5801 or sarah@tybeelighthouse.org!
