With the New Year approaching right around the corner, it's important to know what's going on in town. There's always something going on in Savannah and on Tybee Island, but especially around the New Year is a great time to think ahead.

To help you out, here are some fun things you can do to Ring in the New Year the Right Way!


  • Downtown Savannah FireworksCelebrate New Year’s Eve with a beautiful fireworks show along Savannah’s Waterfront. The fireworks start at Midnight and will be the perfect way to ring in the new decade. 

  • Tybee Island FireworksIt wouldn’t be a New Year’s celebration without Savannah's fireworks at midnight! Head to Savannah’s River Street to watch fireworks light up the city sky. Tybee Island, Savannah’s beach, also hosts a spectacular fireworks display, perfect for those who want to celebrate beachside. 

  • Speakeasy New Year's Eve Party | Ring in the New Year at a Savannah Speakeasy! Congress Street Up, located on the top floor of the American Prohibition Museum, is hosting a free New Year's Eve party packed with live entertainment, plenty of drink specials and tons of fun for the whole night.

  • New Years Day Polar PlungeSplash into the New Year! Join thousands of people as they plunge into Tybee Island’s brisk ocean at noon on New Year’s Day. The Tybee Island Polar Plunge is one celebration the whole family can enjoy.
